23rd June 2019 - In 2018 Leek Wootton Horticultural Society’s, celebrated it’s 150 year from the start of the first annual show in 1868. As an organisation we wanted to celebrate this in a more permanent way and investigated locating planters on the entry points into the village, on Warwick Road. This would be maintained by the society’s members. After a short delay to obtaining the relevant permission they have now been set up. They will be maintained by the Horticultural Society. As quoted by the Parish Council “They present a colourful and cheerful welcome for people entering our village”
15th June 2019 - Leek Wootton Village Fete - The Horticultural Society had a stall at the Village Fete selling tomato plants, sunflowers, pumpkins and flowers. Unfortunately the weather was wet and windy but it didn't stop the children from All Saints' School giving us a display of their country dancing in torrential rain.
